E&T Electric is fast growing industrial electric company, looking for a Controller to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.

Essential Duties

A Controller is a key role in projects and accounting that involves overseeing and managing the financial and administrative aspects of a project.

Qualifications:

· 7 years of financial, data analysis, and/or accounting experience.

· Strong experience in cost accounting within the construction field.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting (master’s preferred) and Finance, and/or an equivalent degree.

· Basic working knowledge of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and taxes.

· Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key excel functions.

· Effective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills.

· Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality results. High level of professionalism and standards.

· Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

· Regular, reliable attendance.

· Work productively and meet deadlines timely.

· Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

· This position interfaces directly with management, providing trusted insight into the financial health of a project.

· The primary focuses of this position include evaluating construction job cost, data reporting/analysis for management, budgeting/forecasting, and revenue recognition.

· The Controller is also responsible for training, development, and management of all project business staff.

· Leads finance/accounting forecast reviews, utilizes historical and trending data to validate forecast, and follows Company standards for cost and revenue reporting.

· Shows eagerness to learn the ins and outs of the field operations to better understand and communicate financial reports and data.

· Supports operations team with decision making by identifying, quantifying, and communicating financial risks and opportunities.

· Prepares client invoicing, manages accounts receivable and revenue, and reviews project cash flow projection monthly.

· Reviews and understands prime contract and change orders, including insurance, taxes, payment terms, and labor laws.

· Follows and implements proper internal controls and acts as main point of contact for any internal or external financial audits.

· Drives continuous improvement throughout the organization and is a proponent for positive change.

· Earns trust, credibility of processes from operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization.

· Displays first-rate customer service skills - willing to help with a positive attitude when/where needed and be helped with gratitude.

· Perform work safely and effectively.

· Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

· Responsible for overseeing company divisions in the finance area.

· Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.

· Prepare tax packages for calendar year end.

· Ensuring compliance with Local, State and Federal reporting requirements.

Additional Responsibilities for Controller in the Construction Field:

To direct, anticipate and oversee all the financial activities of the LLC, including preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth.

Key Performance Indicators:

· Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

· Ensure that appropriate systems, accounting policies and procedures, and internal controls are implemented and maintained.

· Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable government regulatory agencies for financial and tax reporting.

· Day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial related activities of the company and divisions.

· Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.

· Compile and review monthly, quarterly, year-end financial statements and related tax reports.

· Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.

· Coordinate long-range plans, assess financial requirements implicit in these plans, and develop alternative ways in which financial requirements can be satisfied.

· Administer banking arrangements and loan agreements and maintain adequate sources of capital for current borrowings from lending institutions.

· Manage legal contracts, tax obligations, leases, and expectations from loan covenants.

· Negotiate all insurance / bonding requirements.

· Intermediary with all legal counsel and CPA.

· Maintain a strong cash flow position.

· Oversee financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and weekly payments to vendors; both are very time and accuracy sensitive.

· Provide advice and guidance to accounting staff.

· Prepare year-end review. Schedules and coordinate with CPAs.

· Provide owners with financial advice/support.

Base Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
